This watch is powered by Grand Seiko’s Automatic Caliber 9S86, providing 55 hours of power reserve. This caliber is a high beat GMT movement, beating at 10 beats per second (or 36,000 per hour) with precision of +5 / -3 seconds per day, and is visible behind a sapphire case back. The “Flyer GMT” capability adds a 24-hour hand and allows you to adjust the main hour hand in one-hour jumps, backwards or forwards.

Grand Seiko is known for intricate dials and incredible casework utilizing Zaratsu polishing to create a mirror finish. This retro-modern case and dial perfectly straddle dress and daily use with a dial that evokes the lacquered floors one would find in a Buddhist temple, with soft white snow accumulating on the branches of trees, reflecting off the dark floors, causing them to shine as white snow itself – but with the striations of the floor still being seen.
