The Superocean is one of Breitling’s most popular collections and is known for its technical capability and durability. It is available in a broad range of styles, colors, and sizes. This model is based on the “Slow Motion”, a dive-focused and pared-down watch Breitling designed in the 1960’s, known for its chunky indices, squared-off hands, topped off with a high contrast dial-ring and lots of luminosity, all aimed at maximum legibility. The Superocean 42 brings several modern touches to this updated design, including a unidirectional steel dive bezel inlaid in blue ceramic, a matching blue dial ringed with a white minute track, and hands and indices with generous touches of Super Luminova. It has a classically sized stainless steel case that is 42mm in diameter, 12.5mm thick, water resistant to 300m, and also shock-, sand- and saltwater-resistant. The tip of the seconds hand and “Superocean” wordmark are both in red, adding a sporting but elegant touch.

This watch is powered by the self-winding Breitling Caliber 17 with a 38-hour power reserve and has a sapphire crystal that is glare proofed on both sides with a steel case back. It is Chronometer Certified and is backed by a 2-year Breitling warranty (extensible for an additional 2 years with registration).
